Exclamation Installed 720cc's, now problems....

short and sweet....

i got 720cc secondary injectors installed a week ago, all was well untill today....

it's kolder out and has been raining, and tonight i gave my car a little gas, and it sputtered.... over and over and over when i give it gas.... from 3000rpm too whatever RPM....

i have an FCON thats running pig rich, could the weather ( 6degrees celcius, normally 25degrees ) be a factor?...

this is kinda dumb too happen all the sudden after the secondaries, what do you guys think?!?

could my injectors have gotten buggered somehow?...

what happened was that one of the 720cc secondaries was acting up and everytime i boosted it would be intermitant and decide when too work, and massive ammounts of white smoke came out my exhaust, a few times.... it was raw gas....

i boosted once more and my car fell on it's nose, popped loud twice and i coasted to the side of the road....

i tried starting it over and over and over again, nothing but white smoke and a seriously flooded engine....

they fixed the injectors and all, and now the car ran great.... but it's sputtering now so i wanted to know if it's the weather or could have the fact that my engine was flooded, running, everything SEVERELY rich have messed something up....

First off, yea you got totally ripped off for getting the resistors installed.

Secondly I dont see how it could be a secondary injector issue when you stated it started from 3k to whenever. We all know the 2ndaries dont kick in until 3800 under load. Are you sure they didnt put the 720s in the primary location or put the primary injector connectors on the 720s in the secondary position?

Also running too rich isnt a safe thing to do either but with 720 secondaries it's not even that rich, but then again you said you adjusted the fcon. Check the wiring.

i didnt adjust the FCON at all, it just runs stupid rich....

it happens when the secondaries come on, i just came back from driving the car....

from about 3500rpm on, it'll sputter if i give it more then 50% throttle....

i'm pretty sure they didnt put them in the primary slots, i would definitly know if they did....

this is stupid and i have no idea what the **** is going on....

So let me get this straight...

You had the shop install 720cc injectors in place of what I assume were stockers and DIDN'T adjust the FCON at all?

hrm.... from all the "running on one rotor" **** and others that happened there, it LEFT running properly, and now it's being a total bitch, mabe the weather has something to do with it, or from the sequence of events my plugs or such got fouled....

no i didnt adjust the FCON, i guess it has a **** inside but i havent touched it, nor do i have the GCC installed....

it WAS running fine for a couple days....

Maybe you answered your own question?

You've probably been running very rich this last week and you've fouled out your plugs...?

At least pull 'em out and inspect their condition.

ahh, i freakin' hope so....

but it will drive perfectly fine, untill i get higher in the revvs and on boost, if i mash it, it will sputter a little bit then drive fine....

last time i had to get the injectors cleaned to fix this.... and these are new injectors....

frig this is a **** off, i'm stopping by the shop early in the morning tommorow....

its the plugs.

The Fcon is for stock injectors. no seriously the fcon is for 4x550s.....

I did the exact same thing with my car a few years ago. it kept getting so rich it was like i was hitting fuel cut.

The GCC will allow you to tun it down 15% right? well that might not be enough.... it will get you very close. It all depends on how much HP you are making. If you can make enough HP to use that fuel then the +/-15% will be plenty.

change your plugs. open up the back of the Fcon unit and turn down the little dial to 0... thats stock fuel curve. and turn up the boost to about 11 or 12psi.

The fcon is not going to do what you want it to do. Sorry... i about flipped out when i had do decide to sell it. I went with a safc and a FCD. I hooked up the safc tps input to the pressure sensor so it would change to the high boost(high tps) map when my boost level was over 8psi. Was nice cuz i could tune it and all the problems went away.

Id say sell the fcon for as much as you can and get a haltech. You will never be limited by your ems again.

Even though some people think it's rare, they are on ebay all the time and normally dont sell for that much.
