Install Powersteering?

Hi guys,

I have been looking around, could not find any thread on installing powersteering.

I have a S4 NA, all stock. Needs power steering.

will the pump and rack from another S4 work?
- what do I do with the electrical system?
Can I just hot wire it? On/Off Switch?

Thanks.

You need the P/S pump, lines, rack, bracket which holds the p/s pump, p/s computer mounted under the dash below the steering shaft, turn angle sensor behind the steering wheel. Possibly also the steering shaft, but not sure. GL.

edit: the harnesses for these should be already there. The p/s systems in these cars are engine or vehicle speed (depending on model) sensitive, so it's a little more complicated than an on-off switch.

See what parts you do have of the power steering system, and then determine what you need to put it back in and get the parts. You should be able to find most used in the wanted/for sale section.
