Input on this car PLEASE!!
So heres the deal I'm torn between two cars and I just wanna get your guys input on this one. the car is $4000 and the only imperfection the guy mentioned was a lil scratch on the passenger fender. So far I've asked him this..."receipts from Atkins for the rebuild, also whats the mileage on the chassis and the approximate mileage on the engine. Any idea what year car the engine is from? and what ECU are you running? " Can anyone else think of anything I should ask and what do you guys think of the car.
Selling a 1990 FC. Originally a GXL, but has a strong rebuilt Jdm 13BT was rebuilt by Atkin's Rotary. And runs like a champ, super super smooth very fun to drive. Motors sounds awesome. And starts up everytime. The engine is street ported and has 3mm Apex Seals.
Car has a Turbonetics turbo upgrade with all aluminum piping, with a full 3" Greddy exhaust. HKS Old School blow off valve, Greddy Boost gauge. Koyo Radiator and an Intake filter with alumunim intake pipe. NGK Spark Plugs and Spark Plug wires. And a Beat full cut defenser. Also is Kei Office coilovers and a stock VLSD. Also is a ACT Stage 3 clutch kit. Brand new brake pads and it stops on a dime. Much more is also done.
On to the exterior car is equipped with an RE Amemiya wing. Those of you who know who RE Amemiya are. They are virtually gods in Japan for RX7s, very very rare piece. And also has a TII Carbon Creations carbon fiber hood. Passenger side fender has minor imperfections. But its not bad at all. MP3 CD Player and Apline Speakers all around. No powersteering and A/C
That intercooler looks lopped sided to me kinda weird

Sounds like it is a good deal to me but hey everyone likes to feel like they are saving money... kk at least I do. If his asking price is 4k then you know in his head he knows peeps might try to negotiate so he listed at 4k when he will probably take less.. Now you just have to feel him out and see how low you can get him... LOL Remember offer low you can always go up but you can never go back down once you offer more... I always start low. I wont tell you what i just paid for my car but I got a deal and a half... LOL

well rested,buffet o food
Oldschool volks look badass on that thing, wing is nuts too......4 grand w/atkins rebuild engine, offer him 3,500 cash and jump on 4 grand when he says no. You definately couldnt build that for twice that price. After checking compression, leaks, etc. buy it..... out of curiousity whats the other car? I am definately a fan of 3 spokes on an fc.

The other car is a vert turbo, stock but supremely clean and the seller is the one who did the swap and everything......this car on the other hand this guy got it as a trade and his asking price was $5500 so i said 4 cash and he said thats cool. I dont have a compression tester should i go buy 1? lol any comments on the intercooler not being straight?

the car is used, near 20 years old and modded, dont expect it to be a perfect diamond.
for $4k thats a pretty good price imo. The wheels are awesome. You would already be ahead of a few of us here. You can always change things and work it into the way you want. Regarding the intercooler sitting like that, its probably the hotpipe was short for some reason and he mounted the ic in that fashion for it to reach.. shouldnt be too bad.
that car would look soo much better without the pinstrip, and some ftp lense in the front bumper and painted hood.
dam so the other car is a turbo vert huh.. thats tempting too.. i think verts are sexy as is, a turbo swapped vert would be very very tempting. If you dont mind not having a solid roof, that would be one fun car. I think more fun than a coupe. If its a fairly stock vert with a clean near OEM like swap, that would be nice, you can always do what you want to it.
If you plan to race , you would probably want to consider the first car since it would be solid.

4 k is a steal. he said turbo upgrade? ask wat turbo and get all the specs on the fuel system and what it has engine management wise. since the car was priginally an
NA car i would ask about what all was swapped along with the engine (like the trans, rear end, etc. )

I would have went with the GXL. I got a turbo vert just like that and I can't stand the noise the top makes.
the most important thing is to find out who actually swapped the whole T2 drivetrain.

+1 mee too. I wouldn't have gotten the vert. I honestly doo not think it is any sexier then the hatchback rx7. I would have gone with the gxl. The vert is heavier, also you lose a lot of space in an already small car, if you are into music and want a good system in the car the gxl would have been the way to go.. The other car was also more of a better deal in my opinion! But hey man it will be your ride not mine. I want to wish you luck with it. Just remember...> RIMS MAKE THE CAR!!
Heres my sexy *** bitch!!! For your viewing pleasure... Just don't drool! LOL

i liked my vert. i traded for a supra and kinda miss the top down, but my supra is a lot faster my rx7 ran a 18.1. i found out later the 6 port was blocked off my the guy who did the swap but i did pay $500 with a new motor clutch and tires and it came with a parts car.

the guy selling the vert is the one who swapped everything very reputable guy, built alot of FC's. The GXL on the other hand like I said the guy only got it as a trade and he refuse to answer me when I asked if he has receipts and so on so.....I think that kinda means something.

One of the other reasons I said the GXL was the parts on that car are worth bucks... Wanna do that to the vert... You will be digging deep into your pockets. So for the money you would have spent to buy the car... It would have been well worth it. Also you would have had a head start with mods and upgraded parts not to mention a nice looking quick 7! Good luck with the vert. The vert looks sharp too but me personally I am not really a vert guy. No room behind the seats for ****. I like a nice sounding system in my ride. I would get one as my second car and as a daily driver to keep the miles of my first choice-> My GTU.. Good luck with which ever car you end up with man. It is going to be your ride so get the one you like. They are both nice.
