Inline fuel pressure gauge

I was thinking of putting in an inline fuel pressure gauge underhood. Anyone do this and have part numbers, etc. There's like a zillion gauges out there and best I can tell is I need a gauge to read 60psi with a 5/16" T (only found 3/8"T which should be sufficient).

That'll be fine, since an NA's fuel pressure will be in the 25-40psi range while driving. Get a 5/16" tee, as it's a PITA to squeeze 5/16" hose onto a 3/8" fitting.

If you must use 5/16" on to a 3/8th" fitting, here is a tip.
Dip the end of the hose in very hot water for a few seconds and then it will slip right on. Dip time will vary. Trial and error. Depends on size of hoses and thickness.
Good luck.

thanks for info. I did try to find a 5/16" fitting but all I seem to find is 3/8" or 1/2". guess i'll search some more for 5/16.

Liquid filled or not liquid filled. Does this really matter? I would guess liquid filled gauge gives you a more stable reading?

You must be dealing with amateurs. Go to a hydraulic or engineering supply shop.

A liquid filled gauge is totally unnecessary. Since the car will be stationary when you're observing the gauge, there won't be any vibration to absorb. You'd want to clearly see any fluctuations in the actual pressure, as that would indicate a problem.

Is there a benefit to using a fuel pressure gauge inside the car? Or is it just as beneficial to have the gauge in the engine bay?

Good point about the fluctuations. i didn't think about that too good.

You could run a hose inside the car but I wanted to minimize hose length since fuel is involved.

JEG'S makes a really fine little fuel gauge up to 100 psi. Liquid filled.

There are ISOLATOR kits that can be bought if you want to run it inside the car.

That JEG'S gauge accepts 4AN hose that can be fitted on that gauge.

The only reason I bought one was to look at the fuel gague under full throttle to see if it fell on it's face or not. Did not.

I looked and couldn't find the JEGS fuel gauge I bought. It's there somewhere.

Wow, I forgot about JEGS. Thanks! I can spend all day on that site.
