injectors

injectors

can i run high impodence in jectors on my 87 turbo II if i just take off the notch in the center? or is it the other way around? anyway any injector help would be great.

If your original equipment injectors on the car are low impedance, then you have a resister block for the 4 injectors that will have to be removed to run high impedance flavors. Kevin Landers has a good writeup on this topic at Rotaryresurrection.com

Attached is a jpg. On the right is a complete, original Solenoid Resistor as found on Low Resistance Injector cars.

On the left is the same outfit with the aluminum cover removed. Some words that are barely readable are on the jpg. They are instructions.

What you do is cut that harnes in the jpg in two parts. In the middle.

You then take the resistor part and put it on the shelf. It plays no part anymore.

Then you strip all five wires and either solder them together or IF you have a decent crimper, crimp all five together. Then protect the open wiring with shrink tubing.

Then reconnect the plug with the crimped wires back on to the chassis harness.

Then install the high resistance injectors.

Been there, done that. Now let's see if this site will support a jpg.
