The fuel injector wires are actually paired front rotor and rear rotor.

The front rotors ones is the one with the water thermo sensor on it - extra green plug?

You can't mix up secondary and primary, as the primary ones are shorter.

It doesnt matter about the coloring. The secondary injector harnesses are like 6in longer than the primary.

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/attach...postid=1449483 just pay attention to the colors b/t the injectors and the ECU. Forget the others because your car has no solenoid resistor.

You're right, mixing up the primaries and secondaries is hard because of the wire length, but you wouldn't want to mix up the front and rear primaries. Below 3800rpm the primaries run sequentially, so if the plugs are swapped the injector phasing would be screwed up. Not sure exactly what that would do, but I can't imagine it'd run too well.

If you're not sure about the wire colour codes in the schematic above, here's what they are:

All four have a black wire with a yellow stripe (12V from main relay). The other wire goes to the ECU to switch the injector.
Front primary: light green
Rear primary: light green with a black stripe
Front secondary: light green with a white stripe
Rear secondary: light green with a red stripe

Do these color codes apply to an S5 as well?

I'll post a jpg out of the 91 manual tonight (2am Central time) of the schematic for a .....91 model. Wire colors should be the same b/t the injectors and the ECU. The *other* wire on the injector should be the same color on all four plugs. It's the 12v source of pwr.

Not possible to do that. Lay down the wiring harness in the stock position and things only go together one way.

Pretend the ...'s are the top of the engine and the | are the injector wiring harnesses. The _ are the main wiring harness. Thats how it lays on top of the engine.
