Injector/Vacuum Problems

First of all I broke the air filter off of the solenoid valve: switch (the gray one) while removing vacuum lines on the spider. I was wondering if it would be fine without the filter.

I then proceeded to break the brittle plastic on the purge control valve. Does anyone know of a cheap replacement I can get for one?

The secondary air bleed sockets were tough to get out, worked a little too hard on the first one, not realizing it was plastic until I broke it. The other is still ok I think, just a little chipped on the top. Could anyone think of any drawbacks for this as it still will form a good seal lower down?

I found a generic pack of injector o-rings and think these will be ok to use as insulators. Are these ok or are the too short/or not wide enough?

I apologize for the picture quality as the pictures were taken with a camera phone, and I appreciate your input guys.

generic injector o-rings sometimes don't fit well and can cause vacuum leak or external fuel leaks, neither good obviously. I think I used a generic kit and it took a little time for them to seat properly, I wouldn't really recommend that trial and error, it's dangerous. I will say though that if they look and feel snug and the injectors can't move in any direction when cinched down then you're probably ok.

my injectors spin in place where the harness clips in, is this correct? and would u think tecrron technology fuel injector cleaner would clean them well enough to notice? and what about the filter thingy i broke mine as well, found em on ebay for around 15 bucks and i didnt know mine was a filter tip and super glued it shut.. is that bad, will this have effect on the vac system and should i just replace it?

Hey I'm not sure if the egr solenoid will work on an s5. Could somebody clarify?

Also, are the injector insulators supposed to fit snugly? The o-rings I put in their place do not.

I found the correct sizing for the o-rings on the air bleed sockets so no problem there. I guess it would make sense for the insulators to fit snugly or else there would be a vacuum leak huh?

Thanks thats what I was looking for.

Does anyone know in the injector insulators are supposed to fit snugly in the hole or just preventing the injector from really bouncing around?

All those solenoids are the same animal. The filter pulls off and can be put on either of the other two nipples.

The grommet on the bottom of the injector prevents vacuum leaks.
