injector resistors!

I have some 720cc secondaries that I need to put resistors on. so I have the 20 watt 10 ohm resistors, and I've heard it's better do solder them near the ecu so they don't get all heat soaked from the engine. but! there is a twist, I have a custom wiring harness for my megasquirt ECU, so I only have 1 wire coming out of it for both secondaries, and then it splits later, should I solder a biger ressistor at the ecu on that one wire?

thanks
-Myk

The Megasquirt cant run low impedance injectors? That doesnt seem right for a standalone..

The 'Squirt will run low impedance injectors fine but it means extra work playing with the injector driver settings. So it's just easier to use resistors.

As for where to install them, do it at the ECU. HOWEVER since you only have one wire you either need to apply Ohms law and calculate a new resistor value (10 ohm will drop voltage too much under the current draw of 2 injectors) or take the easy way and mount them in the harness near the injectors.

thanks a lot aaron.

anyone want to to do the math and figure out what would be a good resistor?
I'm not much of an electrical guy

would it just be a 40 watt instead of a 20w?

I would think a 10 watt 10 ohms would work fine. The reason to keep them out of the engine bay is soley a heat issue. Resistors will change resistance due to heat.

yeah, but the original issue was that I only have 1 wire going to both injectors, so i have to change the resistor to compensate.
