injector question
i bought a jdm rx7 turbo motor and i noticed that the injectors are like red in color, yet the ones in my car were like a tan color. i though the motor i picked up could be a 91 but it has a manuel omp. are the red injectors high impedence and the tan is low impedence?

Purple tops turn brown/tan with heat and age.  These are low-impedence.  Check the mount tab on the plug - it should be off to the side.
Red tops turn pink with heat and age.  These are high-impedence.  Mount tabs are in the center.

I believe all the ECU's are, as you put it- "high impedence"
The 86 to early 87 (not later 87's) utilize a resistor pack under the air filter to up the resistance of the injectors. The 88+ don't need the resistor pack, as they use high impedence injectors.

Oops, didn't quite read the post correctly...
Bambam7 is right...the ECU expects a high-impedence load on each of it's fuel injector channels, regardless of the fuel injector type.

This post https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...threadid=16225 and the answer by Keith. EDIT; I seem to be having trouble today. Yes. Go to the resistor pack which is mounted to the structure about a half foot below the air fuel meter/air filter. You should see a silver assy there with a large elect plug. It would be a simple matter of disconnecting the plug. Then finding the power wire. Splice four wires off the power wire and connect them to the four wires that are going to the injectors. If you need colors I'll look them up, but what it amount to is just jumpering around the resistor pack with the 12v power source. EDIT; Just to clarify this messy post, once you disconnect the plug from the resistor pack, you don't do anything with the resistor pack or its plug. It can sit there and rot. Just jumper the wires on the plug that went to the resistor pack.
