injector problem?

injector problem?

ok, heres whats going on. car will crank. has spark. after i crank it the front leading is semi wet and the trailing is dry. the rear rotor leading and trailing are SOAKED. they smell of gas. i pull the fuse out and try to clean it out. no fuel seems to come out the front rotor and the rear rotor plumes it. then semi drys out.

is this an injector problem?? or do i have someother problem?

When's the last time YOU saw this engine run? Have you done anything to it since YOU saw it run?

The next time you have ONE of the sparkplugs out of each rotor, have someone spin the engine while you put a finger/thumb over first the front rotor sparkplug hole, then the rear sparkplug hole and compare the pulses with the front and rear with eachother. IF you have a bad apex seal on one rotor, you will notice the difference in pluses with the other rotor. Make sense?

yeah, compression sounds and feels good. i just cant figure out the fuel problem. why would the front rotor stay dryer?

i never saw it run. ive removed all emissions. im using my old harness and everything electrical from my old motor that was blown.

Oh. You had a bad engine and installed a used one. Just wanted to know.

Could be just severly flooded. But you see no mist coming out the rear rotor plug hole but do on the front. Kinda indicating the front injector isn't opening. Maybe.

There's several things you might do. You MIGHT pull the dynamic chamber off and unbolt the Primary fuel rail. Tie the injector on the rail withe plastic zip ties and then watch to see if both injectors spit fuel when you crank the engine over.

IF they do and seem about the same in the amount of fuel spitting out, you might put it all back together and then pull the plug off the fuel pump (plug is behind the left rear strut tower under the carpet.

Then pull the bottom plugs out and spin the engine to get residual fuel out.

Reinstall the sparkplugs and spray starter fluid in the air filter or snorkel for two seconds and not much more than that amount of time.

Then try to start it. It should cough or rev one. Then repeat that spray job a couple of times til it revs for a moment or two. Then try to start it with the fuel pump plug back on.

We can't see if you have a large air leak by having some duct/hose off the engine, so we assume you have everything connected up right.

Make sure the injector plugs are on the primary injectors when you have the dynamic chamber off.

Make sure your battery is Fully charged when you try to Start again. A slow starter will cause flooding.

switched out the primary injectors, still no fire. but there is now equal amounts of fuel coming out of both rotors. what should i try next?
