which injector plug to which injector?

well, I'm getting ready to put my UIM back on so I can put the motor in my car! but, I need to hook up the wiring harness... and I don't remember which plug goes to which injector... or even where the wiring harness is supposed to run(its been almost 6 damn months )

so, does anyone have a picture, or can draw some sort of picture so I know what its showing? I looked in the FSM and I couldn't find anything that helped.

or, any onther way to know?

thanks

Well an easy way would use a multi meter to tone out the plugs.

On a S4 harness 3C is the rear primary/3E Front Priamry/3F Rear Secondary/3H Front Secondary.

If you can get the harness to the approximate position it was in, the injector plugs should "sit" in about the position in which they should go, unless you've cut the harness tape/ wrap and stored it in a tangled ball. with the wiring harness in place, there's not a whole lot of extra wiring length to play with (i.e. you shouldn't be able to "pull" the front primary connector to the rear's spot, if it's routed right). If you can't figure it out that way, go with the continuity readout to the ECU pins as suggested

oh, I totally just understood digi's post. okay.

and... I don't remember where the wiring harness goes, so I couldn't put it there, and figure it out via the wire lengths. a picture would very much help

but thanks so far.

ON a t2, there are 4 injector plugs (duh). There are 2 main "branches" of the harness. The front branch includes the GREEN water thermosensor plug...this is a dead giveaway that it runs the front 2 injectors. The shorter plug is for the primary lower injector, the longer one for the secondary upper. For the rear, well, now it's pretty easy, but to be sure, it has 2 white plugs left on that branch that are for the aws and asv valves.

There isn;t much of a way to screw this up.

Yep, they should practically fall into place. If you have to pull the plug hard to get it to reach, it's the wrong one.

Hey Kevin.
On my S4 Tii Hanress there are 2 wires coming off the rear plugs branch. There is no plug on the end for me to identify but I have toned the harness to a pin on the ABS plug inside the car.
The other wire is a ground.

Do you have an idea of what this is normally connected to? (I know something ABS obviously).

I don't have ABS on my GTU so you think I should cap it or make a circuit?

ABS does not run with the engine harness. The 2 white plugs (each with 2 wires) on the rear branch on the engine are for the AWS and ASV solenoid valves...one on the back of the intake, and one on top.

Here is the wire set in question. I toned it out and it went to one of the golden plugs on the inter side of thge firewall which wasn't going to the ECU.

YOU need to identify the wires. YOU do this by looking at the wire. Usually the wire will be one color and have a stripe on it of another color. An example is black/white(BW). Meaning a black wire with a white stripe, or blue/black (LB). Those were examples.

Did both wires go to some plug that got torn off?

Golden plugs???

Did they go to a plug that connects to the harness for the solenoids on the acv?

A free, online fsm is available.......online for free. It has some pictures.

I have the FSM it doesn't have color codes in it.

The wire toned out to the the yellow tinted plug which is on the interioir side of the firewall.
It is has a plug configuration of this

XXX_XXX
XXXXXXA

It toned out to the A.
The color of the wire is Brown with Yellow stripe and black dots.

I am guessing the plug is for the alternator maybe since it connects to the interioir harness. Or maybe that's supposed to be the boost guage or something? any ideas?

OK,
I found that the plug is the EGI harness to front harness plug.

The FSM electrical section totally goes over my head.
