Injector/Harness help

Alright, I've done some searching and read the FAQ and have yet to find an answer to my question.

I am basicly building an 88 from the ground up. At the time when I bought the rolling chasis I was also given an engine and trans as a bonus. I was told the engine/trans was an 88 as well, but I don't want to start buying parts for the wrong engine.

I know it is an S4, but I am not sure what year. From what I have read there are two different types of injectors on the S4, ones with a resistor in line(86-87 1/2) and ones with the resistance built into the injector(88). My main problem is besides color of the injector I have found no way of telling the difference between the two types. I do have the engine harness/injectors for the engine, but the color has faded and I have no way of knowing if they are the correct ones to begin with. I was hoping someone could tell me where the resistor connector would be on the engine harness in relation to other connectors.

The other half of my question involves the sensors on the engine harness. I was about to purchase a boost sensor for the car when I was asked if I wanted 326 or 327. Are the sensors indifferent to the injector resistance type like the ECU or do I need 326 for the 86-87 1/2, etc.

Thanks in advance for the help.

and no man same here both faded colors no knowledge on telling either apart so much so i thought they were the same.

Take a connector off of one of the secondary injectors and check their resistances

Searched: "injector resistance"
From: "Injector resistance question", (https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/injector-resistance-question-752075/)
"If your car is an 86-87 1/2, you need injectors with 2-3 ohms. If you are 88+ , you need the ones with 12 ohms. If you're not sure, there is a factory resistor pack on the 86-87 1/2 cars near the front passenger side."

If you check the Specifications thread at the top of the 2nd gen section, you can tell what model year you have based on the ending digits of your VIN (and what parts you might need, assuming everything is stock).
