Question Injector connector?

I decided after three years of emissions drama I would tear into the intake, get the injectors serviced, replace the PD, look at the EGR, and generally freshen up the joint.

After a couple hours messing around, trying to unstick thins that were ment to fit together for a long time, I got the upper manifold off and have all the injectors out.

Q: How important is it that the connectors for the injectors are fuul intact? I broke all four of them (yep, perfect score) in one form or another. They're so fragile after eighteen years of heat cycles. I doubt they're going anywhere but one never knows these things.

FWIW, I also broke a coupe vacume lines and that dang thermo-wax coolant line...

Is everybody using JB Weld to block off the cold-start coolant injector hole?

Here this will help, I just used these on my 88 T2.

They are pretty cheap and come with all the hardware. Will need to grind down the notch on the injector to allow them to fit. The bosch ones will match the notch but cost like $18 each.

As a side note, one of the four injectors (primairy on the front housing) was REALLY gunky. The others look ok.

I'll try to get photos if anybody's interested.
