injector cleaners

I was just wondering if anyone had actually used the z-max product. I read about the fraud hp gains and all that but I'm just wondering if it actually did clean the injectors and also if there were any ill effects that occured afterwards or was there no problem using it. Thanks.

Although they are good products, with "on-car" cleaning there is no way to see the results or to know they worked.... While a bottle cleaner with injectors on the car is cheaper and easier, it does have its down sides. Taking the injectors off and having them professionally cleaned is the best way. Using services like these http://kgparts.com/index.php?page=fuelinjectclean are the best option. You will also not being using harsh chemicals that can cause damage to your o2 sensor and Cat. The chemicals used in the bottle method can also dislodge tiny particles and end up causing more damage that what they were supposed to fix.

taking out the injectors and having them professionally cleaned is by far the best way to go. however, if you are wanting advice on the bottled stuff, a bottle of chevron techron and a bottle of redline fuel system cleaner in a tank yields good results. i reccomend www.witchhunter.com for some great tips and a great place to send your injectors to to get cleaned!

And at $15 per injector, and having peace of mind knowing the injectors are flowing evenly, it's worth every penny pulling the intake and sending them off to get cleaned. Just my .02c

+1 to everything said so far.

If you fill up with Chevron, 76, Shell or Texaco you never need the bottle stuff. Basically the good quality brands contain the same chemicals already, except less. www.toptiergas.com has more info.
