Ingnition on/off 12V Acc power??

Hey tehre,

Trying to install an a/f meter in my nightmare wired 86. Most of the wiring was hacked away prior to me buying the shell, but iM trying to finish it off with an air fuel meter.

Anyone have a link to a diagram as to where to find 12V accessory power that comes on when the key is turned on?? Some of the harness in the dash is still intact, so if anyoen could tell me where, or where to find the diagrams for what 12V ACC power source wire might still be alive in there, so I can connect my meter to it, please let me know.

N

It is in the FAQ section at the top of the 2nd Gen Section.

Here it is anyway though.
What are the wire colors for adding aftermarket radio
LTBlue/Red= 12v+
LtBlue/White= +Accessory
LtBlue/Yellow= -power ant trigger
Red/Black=+ Lumination
White=Factory Amp Turn on

Ground to the body, use the 10mm bolt behind the center console front drivers access panel. Do not use the Red/Black as ground it will damage the interior light circuit and dimmer in the car

Front Speakers (maximum of a 15 watt peak from the radio):
LtGreen/Red= Left
LtGreen/Black= Left

LtGreen= Right
LtGreen/Yellow=Right

Rear Speakers (if applicable, if you have the amplified rear speakers again the Maximum of 15 watts peak is all the stock speaker amp input can handle):
Brown= Left rear
Brown/White= Left Rear

LtBlue= Right Rear
LtBlue/Orange=Right Rear

Thanks,
There was not much left behind the dash as far as original wiring when I got it, I'll look for that correct color stub coming form the fusebox, thanks. I have had to hard wire all fo the dash controls, rear wiper/defrost/squirter, but once the gauges are done, the interior is finally done.

She's coming along!

For A/F meters you can get signal, switched power and ground all at the ECU.

This is a V8 car then? It helps if you mention stuff like this....

Follow the IGN wire from the Chevy ECU to where it receives it's IGN signal. Problem solved.

For the record almost every black/yellow wire in the car is an IGN wire.

The Factory Service Manual is in the FAQ and contains all this information as well.

You can also just get a voltmter and probe around the ignition switch. If my memory is correct, black/white is IGN though please verify that first.

Yep, profile says RX 5.7. I guess that explains the hack job on the wiring. I feel your pain though. My MX-3 has a totally hacked up harness as well and I've been trying to figure out where stuff goes on it. Its a mess.
