Information Questions

So i might be getting a 1988 Shell i believe its a GTU shell but i was planning on buying a TII motor/trans from jdmracingmotors.com and i was simply wondering if i will be able to just basicly "drop" it in and switch ECU's etc etc...

Yeah i'm new to the whole swap concept and i'm finally going from Saturn To RX soo this is highly beneficial yup..

And dont tell me to "search for it" cause i did like 3 times both basic and advanced... maybe i'm blind but i couldnt find the answer..

Yeah, you're blind. Searching "turbo swap" in 2nd gen thread titles turns up about a thousand hits.

Here: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-gen-archive-72/s4-na-turbo-swap-details-813825/

There's a lot more the change that just the ECU.

Just make sure you get an s4 swap, but if you get and s5 swap your going to need to lengthen the wiring harness on the tps, Iat, ckp, and some of you pressure relief valves.. but the engine will drop in with out problems... Good luck i love engine swapping

^^ False J's. I did a 6 port turbo on my n/a. I just had to extend wires for the rear injectors. I didn't have to extend Iat, and tps for sure. I don't know what ckp is, but i'm sure I didn't extend that either.

Honestly take off the emissions, you don't need it. It will simplify things much easier.

what J's FC was talking about was not turbo charging a 89-91 S5 NA engine. he was talking about going from a S4 chassis to a S5 motor. there's a lot of write ups on this. i recommend you to look around and at rotary resurrection's website. going S4 chassis to S4 motor and S5 chassis to S5 motor, than S4 chassis to S5 motor or S5 chassis to S4 motor.
