Induction is the act of inducing a charge in a wire by use of a magnetic field. This is how a transformer works. You have 2 coils of wire, with a current flowing through one side. This coil produces a magnetic field, which induces a current in the other coil. Depending on the coil ratio between the two sides, the secondary coild will have a larger or smaller current, and is called either a step-up or a step-down transformer. Your coil packs are transformers, so I guess you could consider it an inductive electric ingintion, but so is every ingintion.

well there is also inductive pick up ignition, which the CAS is a type of, but the ECU controls the signal rather than a direct inductive ignition.

cool... i found a 2 stage rev limiter and it says its for inductive not something simething.

im gonna try it out and see if i can get some consistant launches at the track.... maybe blow a flame or 2.

Make sure it is talking about a reluctor type CAS, and not a "regular" inductive pickup ignition. Also, you need to limit the trailings as well...

The majority of automotive OEM stock ignition systems (coils) are inductive.

That particular rev limiter system will not work unless you're willing to buy THREE of them.

well then... Is there any way to have a rev limiter on my tii? I wat one that will be on when i have a button or switch pressed.. and not function when the button or switch is off.

i want to set the limit at like 3800 or so for launches.

why would i need three of them? in the install drawing it shows two coils... we have two coils right? im soo confused.

There is a way to getto rig a single channel rev limiter to the engine, so I hope electrical wiring does not scare you.

The reason you need three of them is because you're running three channels of ignition - both leadings, T1, T2.  Unless you control all three channels identically, the rev limiter will not work correctly, and you risk engine damage.

If you stuff a single channel rev limiter on the leadings, you need to put some kinda rev switch on the trailings power wire to shut them off.  This is the best and cheapest method I've heard of.  Since you want this to work occasionally on a switch, you need to put this entire circuit through the switch so it doesn't trigger all the time.  Rev switches are available from Summit Racing.  I think the write-up is still floating around in here - try and do a search.

Every ignition coil is inductive.

"Majority" is not necessarily "every(thing)".

Not entirely sure what you mean...EVERY ignition coil on the planet (and beyond) is inductive. An ignition coil is simply a transformer. Transformers consist of one or more coils of wire. Hence, inductor.
