someone could give you a price, but they might be wrong. there might be a variable they didnt consider. and you'd have to find the "goddamn place" anyways, so why not go ahead and find it, call and ask. that way you _know_ the price. its the only way to truly be one step closer to where youre trying to get.

But your missing the point.... To do this legally, you have to have it brought up to US specs, being emissions, crash safety standards, .... Then like said you would just have a RHD RX-7, that you have now spend 3 times as much on. It's not practical.

The only way I could really think to do it, is to just get a VIN tag, and title off of a parts car. And put it on your car. But the car then still wouldn't be as safe, if you ever got hit in the door, you would be hurting, JDM cars don't have door crash supports like US cars. I'm sure there is other things to. But the whole idea of this is just kind of.... off.

Yeah, it is, but who's going to catch you? I don't think they'd believe that ANYONE woudl be stupid enough to dump 16,000 to get a 14 year old jspec car into america... that's selling for 500-4000 dollars...

Although, swapping the VIN would be rather expensive and difficult, too. think about it, assuming you own your own welder AND can use it effectively, you'll have to cut off the old vin plate, and weld a new one on that's flush, then paint the whole area to match 14 year old jspec paint.. If you DIDN'T have your own welder, you'd have to pay someone to do all of the above for you, and it WILL cost more than a regular touch up, you have to grease the wheels and whatnot....

Summary: DUMB IDEA.

Just buy a USDM RX-7.. You can make a badass FC for the same price, and wouldn't have to learn how to drive all over again..

What??? Who told you that?

Have you ever looked at you VIN tag? It's held to a piece of brittle shitty plastic defroster vent on the front of your dash. When I pulled that out of my supra7 to pull the dash, that platic actually broke, and the VIN tag LITERALLY FELL OFF! If you could keep from breaking that plastic, all that hold the VIN tag to it, is TWO (count the 2!) Pop rivets, which can be bought at your local wally-fart.

No welding, no cutting, no painting..... But not legal

Theres more than just one VIN on a car. Theres one on the firewall as well as a few other places I believe.

Yeah, but the one that is on the title is on the dash. No one will really ever check the others.

And I'll have to look, but I didn't think the one on the firewall had the actuall VIN number on it, did it???

there are vin #'s on the front cover of the engine block assuming it hasnt been rebuilt and on the firewall and that one will not come off easily, im sure there is prolly another one atleast hidden.

like everyone says: it's not worth it.......you should be able to find some decent FCs.... save some more money and buy an FC that's a bit more expensive.......it seems counterintuitive to import a car that you can buy in a used car lot in many parts of the country. an S15 on the other hand.....that might be worth it......

there is a vin on the dash, the firewall, the engine and the door jambs.....

The ones on the engine are just generic casting numbers.
