Angry I'm stumped!

Well this project started like 3 months ago. I took out all my injectors and had them cleaned. I also blocked off my egr and got rid of all the solenoids and metal vac and fuel lines. I replaced all the vac lines and fuel lines. I put on a new gasket and torqued down all the bolts. My car would idle like **** and the power deliver was horrible. So i figured it was a vacuum leak. I took it apart again, and did the TB mod and got rid of the BAC. I put it all back together and down it will idle up and kill after like 3 seconds. I have to keep on the gas to keep it running. When it dies it makes the big vacuum sucking sound. I have capped off all the vacuum nozzles and used JB weld for the others. I have checked rechecked everything many times, with evey possible type of check. my MAF is plugged in, didn't touch it. I ******* cannot figure this **** out. i need some serious help on this. my car is an 88 GTU

- what is the vacuum pressure supposed to be at / or within?

I run 17 on my 87n/a. You need to stay on the gas while someone looks for the leak. Or vice versa.

Check your wiring harness and your AFM. I would also adjust the hardstop on your idle. But its probably a vac leak somewhere.

Gasket

instead of the cooper, try Halomar by permatex.

This may sound like a stupid question but, are sure that you scrapped off all the old gaskets?

I discovered NO gasket between my upper/lower manifolds after pulling my injectors last year. I did install a factory gasket, no sealant. I haven't had any problems since. Car ran fine before, and after. Go figure.

Not a stupid question at all. I had the same problem when I replaced the turbo and inlet manifold gasket on my old 12A Turbo. A tiny piece of baked on gasket was stopping the very bottom of the inlet manifold from sealing. This part of the manifold actually has exhaust gases passing through it (some weird emissions ****) so the result was a very loud exhaust leak! I only discovered this after removing the damn turbo and manifold for the third time!
