Smile I'm removing the Sterring Gear. I have a few questions please.

I am having trouble removing the steering gear off the frame b'c the bracket bolts. I'd like to know what size are they. I do not have alot of tools and I plan on getting an appropiate wrench and socket from a friend tomorrow. Can anyone tell me the size of them? (4 on the driverside and 2 on the passenger side). Diagram can be found on pg 246 illustration 17.6

Also, I noticed the upper and lower universal joint Is rather dry. Should I put a particular grease on It. Their Is no mention of this In the haynes. (pg 246)

our cars are mostly comprised of

8,10,12,14,17,19

very few 13,21,23

I’m not sure what you mean by steering gear. Are you talking about steering rack?

I looked at the FSM as dvsmode said on pg. 246. It looks to me like 17mm now. It's the arm that connects to the Tie Rod Ends. The brackets retaining the position looks to me like they are slipped In from the sides rather than simply lifted out after removing them. (?)
