Im new can someone give me some info

Hi everyone, Well ive been a huge chevy guy my short life into cars... Well after blowing so many motors, ive givin up on my firebird.. and selling it for scrap.

Anyways im really new with this rotary thing, i bought the hayes manual and read it front to back 3 times.. I was just wondering if someone would take the time and give me all the info they think i need... please tell me all about my car. ive put the downpayment on it, and pick it up next monday, the 7th.

Its a 89 base motel i think.. It 160k old, but has a jspec motor with 30k on it, the tranny came from same swap.. also new clutch. umm that all i know excpt that it is the cleanest car ive ever seen in my life... ill post pics after i get it and take some... anyways whats the deal with the jspec thing, also.. what kind of power is it puching? and what can i do that wont effect reliablity that can help it go faster... going from a 350 bird, to a 1.3b.... it kinda feels horriable

anyways... any and all responces are great.. thanks so much

Anything that makes it go faster affects reliability... Get used to that one. As far as Q and A, there is a FAQ at the top of the page. That should answer any of your questions.

Welcome to the rotary world!

you sold your chevey becuause you blew so many engines.......and what makes you think a rotary engine will last longer.

you can get alot of HP from a turbo rx-7 dont think your downgradeing there are plenty of rx-7s that can kill your firebird without even trying. and i can gurantee you an rx-7 will out handel a firebird no problem. you didnt say if it was a TII or an N/A.

well, he said 89' base(GTU) with jspec motor. so it must be turbo unless its some sort of weird N/A'd jspec motor.

well, if it truley is a jspec, he must have de-turbo'd it. and if it is, then you should be able to swap all the engine components from a turbo rx7 onto it. that would be good, and much easier than building your own custom turbo kit for it (there are NO turbo kits available for factory N/A rx7's

All j-specs are turbos. You might wanna get that cleared up and find out exactly what you're getting.
