I'm the luckiest person on earth (danger major sarcasm)
I've bought my FC about 5 months ago. It's a S5 base model but it was priced pretty cheap and was supposed to run well (although it was flooded when I bought it). Guess what, first time starting it the car overheats because of an air bubble.
The engine was then removed and every other problem was taken care of. Once I had the money I had RXciting replace all soft seals and port the motor. Once I had the engine back I had to move and couldn't do anything to the car.
Last week I finally dropped the engine back in and tried to start it. It barely moved. I only had a old battery in the car so I crossed my fingers and kept trying to start it. The motor then violently turned about a third of a turn then seized.
After 3 days of trying to figure it out I found I forgot to put one the two washers on the oil injectors and so they went to far in and stopped the engine. Once that was repaired I tried turning the engine but I wouldn't start. I checked compression and I get about 60 psi on the front and a big nothing on the rear rotor. There's a good chance my gauge is wack but the fact that it doesn't show anything on the rear tells me at least one of my apexes is blown.
End of rant.
You are now free to laugh at my bad luck/stupidity while I look at a new car. I want to keep the seven but I don't have enough space, time or money for it anymore. Maybe if I ask kindly it can stay at my parents house for a year or two.

Your situation is a bummer, so I won't be laughing at you. I look at it this way....you were able to discover why the engine wouldn't start. You identified the mistake you made with the sealing washers, a lesson learned. Kudos to you for that. I wouldn't call you a stupid person for doing this, I would say you are smarter than you were the day it happened. I would suggest saving up for another teardown, replacing whichever rotor housings and apex seals were damaged, and get it back on the road. Letting a rotary engine sit for long periods of time isn't a good thing, nor is the burden on your parents.

The lesson was learned, thats for sure. It's only sad I had to learn it the hard (read the expensive) way. But I've always been the stubborn type, I won't let her die yet.
