Another thought is that there may be nothing wrong with his engine and that there is a parasitic drag in the drivetrain somewhere. Just brainstorming here.

Can Spark Plugs be the ONLY reason for 5MPG...Since i dont find anything else wrong ( Spark Plugs looks burnt..all black and stuff)
