Question Ignition Switch 87 FC

Strange thing happening. The A/C and wipers cut out on start up. If I turn the ignition key back a quarter turn the A/C and wipers come on. Could this be an ignition switch problem or is there a relay that is getting bumped again when the ignition switch is turned back bit?

That might be normal, depending on the exact problem you're having- the blower motor (A/C) and some other heavy-load items are "automatically" de-energized on crank, so that the starter can get all the juice it needs for a successful start, then when the key is turned back from the start position, these items will come back on line...

C'mon guys a little help here. The car is already running and I have no A/C or wipers. I turn the key back a quarter turn and the wipers and A/C come on? Any advice?

OK, after several minutes idling, no, that's not normal...

Your ignition switch is bad...

Thanks Wayne thats what I figured. It just seems strange. Is the ignition switch what cuts out the hi power accessary's in the car or a relay I don't know about?

No, it's the actual starting circuit, with a little help from the ECU, I would think...

Not a relay, per se, whose only function is to disable components during start...

There have been several threads like this one over the months- do a search for "ignition switch" and see if anything sounds familiar...
