ignition crisis please help!!

Hello, my car currently broken down otside of work so any immediate info/solutions woud be monumentusly (sorry cant spell) helpful. My car usually starts great, starter is fine, battery is brand new. manual trasmission by the way; when i turn the key i have a small power drop (looks the same as when car normally starts) and a single click and nothing. no solenoid clicking no turning over at all! i am assuming a wire or switch is disconnected that is associated with my ignition-clutch inerlock/relay and looks like a fairly common problem. I am looking to get home tonight and so if ayone could help me out with the logistics(where these wires/switches are) or how to fix it (i.e. get my car started short of a push start), it would be greatly apreciated
THANK YOU!!!!

90% of the time, if you hear your starter clicks, the starter solenoid is bad (might be worn out) . Its not sending enough power to the armature to turn the pinion gear to crank the engine.

Usually banging on the starter solenoid sometimes works while cranking.
If it started fine before work, then it couldnt be anything else unless somebody sabatoged your car lol.

this happened to me last week. I have a push button starter wired to the started though. I usually have to turn the key...flip a switch and push a button. One day i turned the key flipped the switch and nothing so what i found you do is compress the clutch all the way to the ground and then sit the and click your key on and off untill it catches and then VROOM!! Ghettho but got me home for a week til i got a new puch button started...and then no problem

If you still need help, use a jumper cable and connect the positive directly to the bolt where the positive is connected to on the starter. I'm not sure if that will work on these cars, but I used to have to do that on my jeep.

1. check battery voltage across the posts

2. clean and secure battery terminals.

3. have someone bang the starter with the hammer while you turn the key, it works better than you banging it and then getting in and trying to start it.

Not really and ignition issue, but sounds more like a battery issue or bad switch/wiring.

He didn't put down what model and year. US 1986 models for example didn't even have a clutch switch.

Check your grounds Clean the end of the neg terminal where it bolts to the starter bolt through the engine block. Clean the mating surfaces of the tranny and the starter. This is if your grounds are even bad, also try hitting the solenoid with a hammer as stated.
