Why do you feel the need to upgrade?

i agree....the stock FC coils are some of the badest on the planet, leave them alone.

had an s10 and upgraded to msd ignition coil and control module. the throttle response was more than noticeable and definitely ran much better/stronger.

This is not a Chevy.
The FC runs some of the biggest and best coils in the industry.
You don't really need to upgrade them.

Now, if we're talking about a CDI box, that's another story...

Ted what cdi box would be good for my 1988 rx7 se
currently have:

-bonez air intake
-greddy catback exhaust
Other than spraying nos and installing the S5 intake manifold what else can i do to get more horsepower, throttle reponse, acceleration.

Last question, is a msd ignition control module to an chevy s10 what a cdi box is to a rx7?

Thanks any advice

I recently saw a thread on here for a coil re-location box and bracket that put them both almost right across from the spark plugs between the engine and shock tower on the drivers-side, and the guy was trying to sell a few of them

zoom: You'd feel more gains from a header, lightweight flywheel, hi-flow cat or an EMS (either a piggyback; i think Rtek recenly came out with one for S4 NA's, or a full stand-alone, the Megasquirt is a good bargain and you get full tuning capabilities, but it is pretty intense, you get to know the workings of your engine, its wiring, and the tuning bit VERY well). The stock ignition is good for at least 400 rwhp on a boosted engine, im sure you'll be fine with it.
