its just a black wire with a but connector that seems like ground connector but if it doesnt hook up to anything, why is it there from the factory?

Im not sure what it is, but you will have a few wires that dont hook up to anything. It's cheaper for them to just make them all have the same harness instead of making some less a few wires.

It is a jumper for testing something, if you look in the FSM it should tell you what it tests, or the above is true.

as far as i remember it is just an RPM jumper for testing purposes. just relax, it is of no importance to leave unplugged...

It's a connector for a diagnostic tach, used for setting idle speed, etc.

why cant the damn manual have an ignition chapter...
That would be the Engine Electrical Systems chapter.

Click here and download the FSM in PDF format for free.

well my car runs like *** and stalls since before I looked for what it actually did.

I grounded it (since im still trying to fix the 3800 hesitation with grounding issues) and now the car spudders and stalls and barely runs, sounds like *** and wont hold idle.

did I fry my ecu or is my timming off?

WTF IS WRONG WITH MY GOD DAMN CAR!

OMG...

You were you thinking?! You had no clue what it was so you grounded it? I have no idea what that will do but I'm sure it won't be good. It's possible you've damaged the poil pack or even the ECU. I really hope you've at least disconnected it by now.

BTW, there's no such word as "spudder".

*sigh*

there is many unused plugs around an RX7, don't just start plugging random crap into them or grounding them out...

i'm sure the circuit is tied into the ECU trigger circuit, you very well could have damaged the ECU or just the coil at the very least.

uh no, he circled the small black bullet connector off the leading coil pack which is a tach lead for testing purposes, a lead which should never be grounded directly.

WTF IS WRONG WITH MY GOD DAMN CAR!

Ok, you could just severely fucked over many electrical components in your car. REMOVE the ground, check all fuses, check the coils and ECU...

To fix the 3800 RPM hesitiation, STOP ADDING POINTLESS GROUNDS!

Tear off your intake manifolds, and refurbish all STOCK GROUNDS. Read: sand down the ground point, either clean the ring connector or replace it, and re-bolt to the block/whatever.

While manifolds are off and you are playing around with the stock grounds, send all 4 of your injectors to www.cruzinperformance.com to have them serviced. Replace your fuel filter and fuel lines while you are there, also.

Good-bye 3800 RPM hesitation! Hello no stupid grounds!
