ok i'm having a problem with my 88 t2 ....

when i start the car it idles at 1500 rpm and is pretty rough ... used to 3000 and very smooth

if i release the clutch in neutral the car dies
if i wait a couple of minutes the cars dies

if i give it gas i can get it to run but i got to keep my foot on the gas and if i give to much like when you want the turbo to kick in it just dies ....

anyone know where i should start looking ??

 

vac lines...
if you still have the old tid check that too...
you may also want to check your tps...

oh and one last thing...do a search...more often then not someone's already found a solution...
