Yeah! you'll get flamed if you ask a question about idle problems. Of all the posts on the forum, this one topic probably outranks them all. In the archive theres a thread about addressing idle problems. Make sure you read it.
1) Make sure the TPS is properly adjusted. Use the twin light method and make sure that at idle the test shows a single light lit.
2) For Series 5 FC's adjust the idle speed by the screw on top of the throttle body. First you have to ground the initial set coupling....read the posts and the Factory Service Manual
3) Still having idle problems? look for possible vacuum leaks allowing unmetered air into the system.
4) Make sure fuel filter is not clogged up...make sure plugs and plug wire are in good shape
There are many posts on every possible idle problem. Do a search, read and do your homework.

I found there was NO idle adjust screw in the BAC --- I stick my screwdriver in there and it doesnt hook into anything... tried both a flat head + phillipshead with no luck..
Ideas?

Not all BAC's have the idle adjust screw in them, My '91 N/A does not. The screw on top of the Throttle Body adjusts idle. Warm engine up to normal operating temp, ground the initial set connector and use this screw to adjust idle speed to 700-1000. Remove the initial set ground and you're done. If idle's still not right, adjust TPS and go through the idle speed adjust sequence again. Still not right? (1) You may have vacuum leaks (2) Your BAC may be bad (3) Engine air thermosensor may be bad (4) Water thermosensor may be bad. You have to eliminate them one at a time. Like I said, search and read on idle problems. We've all had them and a lot of information has been posted.

to remove the intercooler...unbolt it from the 4 corners, loosen the clamp on the left front hose, loosen the clamp on the rear right hose, remove the 2 or so small hoses on the right rear, and pull up. simple.

If the connector is missing off the two wires for the bac, you can crimp some female connectors on thewires and insert them in the jack on the bac. Just make sure the two wires never touch eachother with power on the car (key ON).
