idle guru's I need help
yea yea I've searched.. been doin it for like 2 weeks... asking questions too.
alright so I've had high warm idle problems and I couldn't adjust the bac low enough to do anything... so here it goes.. I got pissed and riped my intercooler off and started looking at how the throttle works.. well I start looking around and my throttle stop screw is adjusted so far out that my plates close without touching the screw... to me it seems with it all the way out it shouldn't run.. so my next thought is vacuum leaks of which I havn't found any.. could be a ******* gasket. anyhow back to the story, I started messing with a few screws to try to adjust my idle a bit... low and behold I turn a screw way out (counterclockwise) put the intercooler on and my car starts idleing at 2000 rpms... up from 1200 rpms... so I think I find my holy grail... I pull the intercooler back off turn the screw in all the way... as far as I can... install intercooler... start her up and I'm idleing at 950 rpms. So I look at the fsm to see what the hell the screw was and it looks like its the fast idle cam... which I believe is controled by the thermo wax crap... could my thermowax pellet be stuck in a way thats causeing a high idle and how can I check it out... heres a pic to help a bit.. I circled the screw I was adjusting.

It's possible it's not extending all the way because....................there isn't water FLOW thru the throttle body passage from the rear side housing thru the throttle body to the rear of the water pump housing.
No flow equals a thermowax the does not get hot enought to fully expand which in turn means the cam will not come off the roll pin.

it always idles at 900~1000 rpms now... can't really figure it out but I think it's a bad thermowax pellet cause with the screw all the way in it's at 900 rpms with it all the way out it's at 2500rpms I'm thinking about putting somekind of spacer in there for a bit till I can get some block off plates and remove it all together.
