idle and clutch problem together

any ideas on this problem. When I push the clutch in the idle jumps up to over 3k rpms! with the clutch-out and not in gear, idle runs about 2500 rpms.. can't get it to go down... any ideas?

Why do you think the clutch is directly related to your idle problem?

When you push in the clutch this releases the motor from spinning against the tranny. It would make sense that it would idle higher then when the clutch is engaged.

As far as the idle itself goes. Could be tps could be BAC could be a lot of things.

Look in HAILERS profile and see all posts by HAILERS. You could probably find everything you ever wanted to know about the rx7 and its problems there.

Thanks. It turns out to be a bad oil metering pump. They charged me over $800 to fix and I've heard that I got ripped. But I went to two (2) dealerships and there prices were about the same.
