Idle ?

Hey guys, i've searched and have found that it's normal for the car (when cold) idle at 2500 rpm, then drop to around 1000 in a few seconds, then down to about 750. My car does all this, but the funny thing is that once i get moving, and i am at a red light, the cars idle is around 1200. how come? I thought that once your car hit 750, it shouldn't go back up. Thanks.

it should jump to about 3000 if the car is started in "N" for around 15 secs. then it will idle at 1500 for around 10 mins untill the engine is warm.

I always start with the car in gear to prevent the 3000rpm start up.

I got a question. Not sure if this is normal or not but I always start my car in first gear and sometimes the idle will drop to around 2000 and I can put it back to neutral and it will remain at 2000 and continue to drop while warming up. Sometimes though I will have to keep it in first gear for about 15 seconds to 30 seconds or the rpms will jump back up to 3k. It is only occasionally. Any thoughts? I just worry about wearing out the throwout bearing.
