Idiot light Wattage

Does anyone know the wattage the idiot lights draw? I'm looking at replacing them with leds in something I'm working and don't want to kill anything trying

The draw is pretty low, like 100mA.

Of all the things to lower the power drain on, they are probably one of the last things you would want to play with. I mean, they are only on for 10 seconds while starting...

well, I'm making a SAFC holder that is going to cover them and I'd like to replace them with leds on the holder I'm making.

Oh, sure LEDs extended like that would be fine, just use a 4.7K resistor with the LEDs and you should be able to see then during the day.

so a 100mA led with a 4.7k resistor or are leds measured differently?

No, you would want to use a normal 20mA LED with a 4.7k resistor if you are extending the lights to a new location and using LEDs at that location.

BTW: brightness of a bulb is rated in wattage, brightness of an LED is measured in MCD.

Current draw (how much power is needed to operate the light) is in amps, Mili-amps or Mili-amperers (A, mA).
