My check engine light comes on religously every 15 min in my 91 vert the car goes into "cripple mode" i have replaced the air intake temp sensor. this did nothing now im thinking MAF sensor it would be much easier if i could just read the code but its temporary so as soon as turn the key off i lose the code. any suggestions?

What do you mean by "cripple mode"? After you get done driving, try following these procedures:

Probably a bad oil meter pump.

Definitely the oil metering pump. The ecu goes into limp mode once you hit full throttle and wont stop until you shut the car off and start it again. Replace the OMP and also be careful, your ecu can get messed up if you drive around with a bad OMP.

the light will come on if i start the car and let it idle for 15 min without ever touching the throttle. if this is the case do you recommend repair or block it of and go to premix.

if it's an S5 the Pump needs to be hooked up,Electrically, even if you block it up and go to Premix.Guys just put the OMP to the side and Let it dangle,so to speak..So if it is your OMP,you are still going to have to replace it,or you will still have the same problem.the ECU will Stay in limp mode with the Faulty OMP.(even if it is Not hooked up mechanically)
