identify that nipple
Hey guys, sorry I have no pics. On the S5 manifolds there is a nipple on the upper intake manifold near the Dynamic chamber and closer to the front side on the car. Is this a good source for air pressure to activate the VDI chamber?? As of right now I'm trying to get the VDI chamber to open VIA exhaust back pressure from my header but it doesn't seem to be enough. According to the FSM the actuator requires 2.8 psi to open fully, or in inches of mercury ~5.7. right now when I hook up my boost gauge it only reads about 3-4 inches of mercury so I need more and was wondering since this nipple on my manifold is simply capped off if it would supply enough air pressure when combined with my other air source.
thanks

The manifold nipples have either vacuum from after the throttle or atmosheric pressure from in front of it. They never have positive pressure. The only place to get positive pressure on a NA engine is either the exhaust or the air pump.
