Identify This Engine?
I'm thinking of buying this engine, but I"m not sure what year it actually is, and I can't go see it in person. The owner says it's a S4 N/A but I'm not sure.

Oh well, anyone want the guys email? He's got 2 of em, drop me a PM. He was wanting $500 usd each, but I'm sure he'll go for less, he claims that there low milage and will run.
On another note, could i use the rotors and e-shaft from this one to rebuild my S5 engine?

Why do you need a new e-shaft?

Rotors still spinning

The GSL-SE does have a 6-port. Yes it only does have 2 injectors.
A couple of major problems when trying to retrofit it into a 2nd gen. The motor mounts on that engine are on the front cover. The 2nd gen has mounts on the intermediate housing. Nothing internally is interchangable between engines except the e-shaft.
scathcart is correct. You can't interchange rotors between the two engines. The actual rotor shape is different by a few thousandths of an inch. Some people have interchanged them but it isn't recommended due to he increased risk of the rotors physically hitting the housings at high rpm's. Why would you need a new e-shaft? also the earlier rotors and counterweights are 1 pound heavier each. You'd need the corresponding flywhell too. Just go find the right engine. It will be easier.

to clear up the confusion
1. the 84-85 13b engines do have 6 ports
2. they have 2 680cc injectors
3. it will not fit in the fc, it mounts on the front cover, not the center housing
4. the e shaft is better in the gsl-se, it doesnt have the thermal pellet.
5. the rotors are worse, they are heavy and have 3mm seals
