Ideas? Tails to mould into an FC ...
I'm getting some serious custom bodywork done on Barney. Part of it will be mounting the dry-brake (for fuel into the fuel cell) in the spot right about where the third brake light normally is. But a dry-brake is big enough that it wouldn't really fit there, so where the license plate goes will be moulded out. I figured, why not mould some custom tail lights in while I'm at it.
So what are some ideas for best looking tail lights I could mould into and FC? Problem is, most tails are 2 piece tails because of trunks. Like some of the new Alfa tails ...
Help me out with some ideas.

Hmmm, I dunno, i really like how the s5 tails look on fc's, but thats not what you're asking
i dunno about what other tails would look good, though... good luck finding ones that will work and look good

Actually, I was thinking about the C4 Corvette tails a week or so ago, and went so far as to (poorly) photochop it. It looks kinda shitty...I don't know if it's because it's a bad idea, or because I really, really suck at photoshop. You be the judge!
I agree with setachrome. Leave 'em stock, and attach a flipup license holder form an older Caprice or something. It'll be clean, and it won't attract much attention from cops or ricers wanting to screw with your car. Or, when you leave them stock, tint them with spray light tint. I just did mine on my 88 SE, and the whole back end looks about a thousand times better.

Just do like i did on my T2. I got some s5 tails and then my step-dad fiberglassed some taillight covers for me so all you can see is the two circle lights. i even had him change that tacky long rectangle reverse light into a small circle. so now im left with a pretty stylish rearend, kinda like a skyline....beautiful. you get a nice exterior mod without changing the integrity of the fc. youre not trying to mold anything at all and most importantly it doesnt look ricey and its really cheap to do!

my sig isnt supposed to look real or to fool anyone, just there to show you what I will be making soon. And as far as finding lights you have to find something wide enough so it will look right, and the closest thing i can thing of would be stock prelude lights.
stock S5 look good enuf
or .... buy some skyline r32/33 on ebay they not expensive at all and they should look pretty good
well i was going to costom some skyline into my vert, but i end up got the S5
good luck with your bodywork

ryan trust me and go with the stock prelude lights, im sure some riceboy has them on ebay with as many aftermarket ones around, plus you have to keep in mind they wrap around that corner quite well like the fc lights

I always thought the late 80's/early 90's dodge daytona lights would look good on an FC. They're actually very similar cars from the door back, and very similar taillight designs. Think of it as halfway between s5 tails and FD tails.

some idiot put some integra lights on his car a while back on a green fc, nasty as all hell, and please for the sake of the car do not put something intended to be a knock off of the fc on the FC. (daytona idea)

right you are ...
