Ideas plz help (info given might help others)
I have an 1987 na rx7 se with 219xxx miles. It has SAFC, exhaust, intake. It has an annoying oil leak in the oil cooler area. The 5th and 6th ports aren't opening I am pretty sure. Everything else seem to be in decent condition. It does have a lot of annoying vibrations (any way to fix house and make it ride like new?). The body has no big dents and suspension is good for a car that old.
Money is a factor but I don't mind doing work myself if its doesn't involve weeks of down time.
Now my girlfriend and I are moving in together soon and she want me to have something reliable but I need something that I can also love and have fun in. That leaves Rx7 of course, Integra, and 240sx.
What do you guys think that I should do. Should I assume that the engine is going to blow soon?
Should I just do little fix and a keep that car stock(as is)?
Trade for a 240sx (more support, better gas mileage{pizza delivery and my college is 250miles away}, I can more easily turbo.
And anything else you can suggest.
Thanx for the help guys.

All maintenance and a little elbow grease, it is a 19 year old car after all.
clean the oil lines, oil cooler, and the connection points then run the engine, you should be able to pinpoint the oil leak alot better with a clean area.
For the actuators, make sure they move freely. If not, remove them and clean them up. make sure the the plunger will hold its down position when you plug up the holes. Youll know what I am talking about when you inspect them carefully. Make sure the rotating arm( the things that the actuators connect to) move freely, if not you may have to remove the LIM to clean the sleeves. In terms of exhaust, what do you have? You may not have enough back pressure to actuate them
For all the shakes, it is a 19 year old car. The mounts and bushings wear out over time so it would be nice to replace those.
With all the proper tools and replacement items in hand, it should be a a nice weekend project

just a suggestion, for the 5th and 6th ports, check the line that goes from the cat to the engine bay (if you look under the car you'll see it). Make sure that the line is bolted to the cat.

So I guess a 240sx would be in my best interest. What is the fuel mileage for a 240sx? But why do you guys say 240sx? Do you think its more reliable or is it just because of the high mileage.
