Ideas on a 90 N/A

I need some ideas on a NA RX7... It was running ok when i drove it from texas... But if i got over 1/4 to half throttle it would studder and jump... But if i kept the motor at around 1/4 and let it slowly run up in the RPMs and got in it around 6k it would studder momentarily then start running fine... Just wondering if anyone has any ideas to check out.. The car is 98% stock, and currently in a shop here... Its in the shop because of a wierd problem that everyone with a RX knows about except me.. Well until it was too late.. I hate Fuel Dampners...
