On the attached jpg, there is an approx one inch in diameter hole just to the left of the purple vacuum hoses. It's on a JDM engine. What does this approx one inch nipple connect to? It does NOT exist on the USA versions. This is a TurboII engine.

a hose should come off that, and i belive it goes to a thing in the front of your car. under the passenger headlight take a look at this link and look through it. http://1300cc.com/howto/how2/pumpACV.htm

Yep, that's the relief hose connection that goes to the silencer under the headlight.

J-spec motors have a slightly different ACV the US-spec motors. The relief hose is at the rear as shown and there's no port air solenoid valve. Otherwise they connect up and function pretty much the same.

The top hose is the vacuum for the switching valve in the ACV.

The one just to the right of it on the same level, is for the boost/pressure sensor on the right front fender.

The long one that cuts a diagonal line across the valve and goes downwards...is the Pressure line FROM the acv to the left side of the engine to the RELIEF SOLENOID.

The last line, the one that is the third from the top and goes down, is the PRESSURE line from the RELIEF SOLENOID to the bottom of the acv, where when the Relief solenoid is de-energized , will push up up a poppet valve in the acv and will dump airpump air overboard thru that large nipple that I could not identify earlier. Anything else?

People who do not have to pass emissions legally, or do not have to pass emissions at all, sometimes block off the acv.

Other people block it off because they can't understand how things work, so things they don't understand are removed so they won't hurt their little heads trying to understand how things work.

Other people remove it so they will have more room. More room for what I do not know. I usually have plenty of room in the interior of the car where I drive the car. My feet don't reach into the engine bay. There are no items in that area that need constant replacement or adjustment. It's a mystery.

Other people feel they must remove things to make the car lighter. They need to lose weight from themselves. At least that would be doing something positive.

so obviously you are against taking out the acv, lol. Any ways the guy before me must have just wanted more room I'm guessing then because of the fmic and bov being right there. Thanks for the explenation.
