Mazda RX7 Sports Car Color History by John Matras is a great read for learning about Mazda's development of their RX7's and other rotary cars through the years. Another book entirely about the second gen is also available, kind of a narrative of the second gen's development, is available but I don't remember its name. I have seen copies of it in Ebay but have never read it. I got the color history at the local library.

That'd be "RX-7" by Jack Yamaguchi. Fantastic book, pity it's out of print. You can find them on E-bay if you're lucky.
