I went out for a drive the other day

and i'd just like to say that everything ran great. Started up like a charm, idle was smooth, clutch didn't slip, pulled hard, nothing popped, brakes didn't fade, engine temps stayed normal, my voltage gauge thing stayed around 14, oil pressure was consistent while on throttle, gas was very responsive, gears didn't grind, nothing rattled, electricals all worked flawlessly, and it was just a great drive.

now you're asking, why the hell did he post this? well, because all we ever see on this forum are what's wrong with my xxxx? someone help! engine blew! what do i do if... and problems here and there, other people reading the forum are gonna be like, what a hellhole money put fc's are... they never run without any problems! yeah, so this is just for a change

my fc ran great.

that's what i like to hear... it makes me feel more comfortable knowing that there are people driving around that don't have to fix their car every other day... it's a less-worry factor, i guess, hehehe

The only reason people have to fix there cars is because they screw it up. Usually the cars run at least have decent when bought and then people go and do all sorts of stuff to them and then they have to fix them constantly. But then again that's why I bought my car.

Drive my turbo 2 to work every day, and belt it around the mountains on weekends. In 4 months of this, I've had a dud tps. Otherwise great.

Ok dude i know its good to be positive and all but i think you got the wrong idea
This forum is primarily for tech questions and such if you look at the writing under the 2nd gen forum link just before you get in here youll see;

1986-92 Discussion including performance modifications and technical support sections.

Simply put. The main reason i joined this forum after i bought my FC was for TECHNICLE SUPPORT cuz honsetly im not like most of you guys that know absolutly everything about cars and can fix just about everything in a car. You see i need this forum like others to complain about problems to try to get em fixed, cuz like others i am not a mechanic but striving to do my own jobs
Anyways thats my .02 cents on this subject

No, they run most powerfully when they run lean, not before they die.

An engine will make more power than stock with a leaner a/f ratio. Mods lean out the motor, which increases the risk of detonation (when boost creeps with cold, nightime air). A tuned engine with enough fuel will always run that strong.

The "run best before blowing" is a turbo-created myth, as people add mods which lead to too much air and not enough fuel, and though it makes the car faster, it kills it with detonation.

I've not had problems with my car, except for the heater hose that went and that's just cuz it's a 13-year old car for crud's sake. People kind of expect a car that old to have at least a few problems. I'd be worried if it didn't have a few problems...did I mention that my automatic top stopped working about a month after I got the car?

HAHAHA

You really did it.....

I didn't think that you would post it after we talked.

Mine runs good also except for the clogged exhaust. I just added my very first rice item. A HKS blow off valve. Robert at Rotary Shack gave me the adaptor pipe and I bought the universal BOV. Putting the C-clip in was a bitch, but it sounds cool. Now if I only had more boost to make it sound WAY cool.

Anyway, except for the manditory oil leaks, my turbo is running pretty nice.
