i want to run nitrous but...

i have an 86 gxl with 180k miles on it and the compression on it is really good. like in the 90's. i drive thge snot out of it, and i dont think it has much carbon in it.

is even a 30 hp shot too much for it?

i dont plan on getting a 50 or even higher than 50 at all.

driving with low boost or small shot of nitrous is like racing with your e-brake up....you just wont be able to keep yoursef from wanting more

not really. if i wanna go faster, ill just drive my brothers wrx. how does a vf34 and 600cc injectors runing 20 psi of boost seem? seem fast enough?

but back to my question. would nos not be recommended because someobne said that with nos on that car, it wont last even more than a couple of shots even if i do run it a bit low. i dont know. i wont use it allot.

if you have enough fuel, go for it. as long as it's controlled. you might be on the verge of a rebuild anyways. so what do you have to lose?

there is a great thread in the archives section.

i think you'll be fine.

As every car owner should do: budget for the unforseen (an engine rebuild) and go for it. You compression is low, indicating worn seals, but unless you detonate, nitrous won't have any measurable effect on the longevity of your engine.

Follow all of the rules I have listed in earlier threads and it should be fine.
