I want low end power turbo spool

Well i have a t04e so then my turbo takes forever to kick in, like after 4k, and when in 1st gear all the way to redline it doesn't kick in at all, only 2nd gear after 4k then so forward, is there anyway to make my turbo kick faster? HELP PLease

exhaust port porting???

better intake and intake porting maybe???

but you gotta have a boost/vacuum leak, because its not normal not having boost kick in first gear, stock ports or not....

Turbo boost is dependent on engine load.
The engine is not loaded heavily in 1st / 2nd, so what you're seeing is ENTIRELY NORMAL.

What size backside are you using? I would suggest using a .81 in a full t4 for great spool on stock ports.
Also what are you using for a boost controller? A good ebc can cut spool time along with the right sized wastegate spring like night and day. More info needed from you before anyone can assist

I don't have a lot of experience with turbos, but I figured I'll weigh in anyway. Take this for what it's worth.

From what I've read about turbochargers, increasing exhaust gas velocity will cause it to spin up faster, but air flow restrictions (which cause increased velocity!) will cause it to spool slower, so there's got to be a happy medium somewhere. (maybe a dead person gave her good news?) Big turbos tend to spool slower than small ones, bigger turbo = bigger horsepower, but higher in the range. TT Rx7's do this by using a small turbo to feed a bigger one, (right?) called sequential twin turbo.
Also, new ceramic bearing turbos spool faster than their older counterparts. But I'd guess replacing the turbo isn't on the menu probably.

Hope this helps a little

They didn't completely explain that when you bought the t04e did they? Or maybe you inherited that turbo when you bought the car? As Ted sez, it is entirely normal for 1st gear to not produce enough engine load (exhaust volume and velocity) to spool that turbo. Ask someone who understands this and they will tell you your turbo is spooling fine. If you were expecting a stock turbo-like spool and the 300 hp top end, it not happening. That turbo will never deliver a 'linear' low rpm spool. It is what it is.

You are stuck with the physics of the turbo you have. You can help the situation by mods that help turbo spool in general: Big downpipe, high-flow exhaust (preferrably no cat) true cold air intake, smallest front mount intercooler that does the job.

or you could get another turbo, maybe a ball bearing unit that will spool earlier in the rpm band and still flow enough to make the top end power that you want. You will need lots of time to sort throught the info and opinions. Always be careful to ask the right questions and consider the source when you get answers.

Bukwild has some good info that will help. You need info with numbers not opinions. One number you need are at what rpm does it spool in what gear. You also need to put this in context of the supporting mods as Bukwild alluded to the ebc and the wastegate setup.

You're gonna need some extra $$.

Good luck

to the comment about exhaust velocity spooling the turbo. It is more of a pressure ratio.

The more pressure difference you can present to the turbo ie. tubular manifold and open downpipe the better spool you will have. Now I am gonna be honest and say I do not know much about manifold design but I beleive the tubular equal length manifolds are designed to eliminate exhaust pulse cancilations. I dont know what the hell I am talkin bout now! But I do know the pressure difference is what you want so get a exhaust cutout and let that turbo breathe.
