Yes, they're timed down to the millisecond... they use computerized timers with light-activated start/stop.

Really? That's a pretty bold claim. Point out exactly what I said that was completely wrong, proving I have no clue what I'm talking about. Then explain why I'm wrong. In detail.

In autocross one millisecond could mean 1st place or 1st loser. Taking 30 pounds out of the rear of your car is amazing, autocrossers dont remove the spare, jack, tools, kleenex box for nothing..... obviously you have never done any sort of sanctioned racing.
Well since you obviously have, and since you obviously know far more than me, tell us exactly how many milliseconds you save on the track you compete on after removing 30lb. Exactly how amazing is the difference.

Actually they usually measure to a thousandth of a second (0.001second). A millionth would be 0.000001.

A millisecond is one thousandth of a second. The prefix for millionths is micro, so a millionth of a second is called a microsecond.

Whoa...this thread is becoming an argument than an opinionated one...well anyway....let me know how ur dual into single turns out cuz i'm actually thinking of doing the opposite :P

Also which would give more performance, a Y dual exhaust or true dual (not into a single muffler)?

Theoretically? Y-dual, if you set it up right. But that has more to do with the collected header than the Y-pipe.

if no one else will say it i will. single exhaust sounds like a ricer. if you switch 2 single, performance will be enhanced and less weight will be a plus, but it will sound like your exhaust is pushing itself through a rattling coke can. i just bought a single exhaust, because there's a great kit at rx7store.net that comes with a downpipe and presilencer and cat back, the FULL EXHAUST for 399.99! look it up great deal. but for the dual exhaust and downpipe and everything, it costs 780.00. it just depends on what you want to spend. which is why i am forced to go single. exhaust leaks are a huge problem on these cars and when you fix it with aftermarket, horsepower can be very impressive.

Yes it was, and so was what Valkyrie said, but your response was framed as a correction. He said "they're timed down to the millisecond" and you said "Actually they usually measure to a thousandth of a second". Both are the same thing.

Only if you have an undersized or stock dual-muffler system. If you swap from a properly sized dual-muffler system, performance won't be enhanced.

No they're not. They're no worse than any other car of the same age. If you have an original stock system that's leaking, you shouldn't be surprised. If you have an aftermarket system that's leaking, that's not the car's fault. It's most likely poor design, poor quality or poor installation, or a combination of all three.
