Unhappy I think my RX is dying

last friday i went to work in my 86 GXL 77k miles. everything worked perfect not a hint og anything wrong but when i tried to leave i started it, it started but not till it shook my entire car like crazyuntill i reved it up to 3000 rpm today i got it running againand reved it up to 6000 rpm to clear it out it is running like crap and will not stay running if i let go of the pedal.
all of my plugs and wires are sparking my fuel pressure is great (already removed pressure valve in the fuel pump) ive done almost everything i can think of except a compression test which i will do soon as i can. i called a local RX-7 shop and he thinks that my engine is weak or its done. my BAC resistance was a little high 14.3 ohms but thats all ive come up with. do you guys think my engines blown? Thanx

It sounds like you MAY have bad compression in one rotor.. hopefully not... Hopefully not.. when I lost an apex seal, I managed to get it push started.. and it would not idle on it's own.. it drove very weakly and I got it home.. Where it ran rough bigtime.. I acually drove it quite a bit with a missing apex seal... it just drove weak and rough.... compression test showed rear rotor apex seal gone

does it drive at all ? one time one of my primary fuel injectors plugs was loose and it was running off one rotor barely had enough power to run the engine...
if the car will not move.. You could check this out... if you can get it to 6000 rpms, I doubt this is the problem..

compression check ASAP...

Mine had the same thing, it turned out to be a stuck spring somewhere on the TB. Sorry I dont remember exactly what it was, put try wd-40 on all the moving parts of the TB ,and the ake sure there all moving correctly.

I am having a similar problem on my 1990 GTU. I had just fixed the MOP (at least i thought i did) and from out of nowhere when I was driving I lost all power. It started running like crap, would not idle on its own. I managed to get it home and do a compression test. 90-110 on the front, and 65-80 on the rear. After the Comp test I decided to start it up again..OH MY GOD!!! White smoke everywhere, and it did not go away, and it was burning my eyes the exhaust was so rich. Does this mean my engine is FUBAR'd?

Any advice would be great.

Thanks
