I think I put too much oil in my engine... Should I change it again?
I think I put too much oil in my engine... Should I change it again?
I think Im only supposed to put 5 bottles in, but I put in 6.
Will having too much oil in the engine damage anything? Did I even put in too much oil?
Thanks

Just drain a little bit and dont change it all?
How serious a problem is it to have too much oil? Like, can it be driven for a day or so cuz I dont have the time and Ive swapped cars with my mom for work.
If it is serious, Ill definatelly take care of it right away though.

drail a little bit? I would like to see that!
Unless you put a tube down the filler hole and suck it out.
You should be fine...but obvisouly...your going to worry about. In that case...drain it.

too much oil is a bad thing, the engine may build up too much positive crankcase ventilation pressures, seems to me that it would cause the airfilter to get oil on it. also the oil level may be too high causing the oil to aerate in the rotating assembly. i wouldn't have too much. next time put 4 quarts then check the dipstick and add accordingly.
draining just a little oil is gunna be a challenge... putting the plug back in is going to be the worst part... just cross your fingers and hope you catch threads right away or there will be oil everywhere... be prepared to get a lil messy

I know a trick but it takes two people.
Get a shop vac or the likes
open the oil filler tube.
put rag over the hose if you don't want any oil in the vac.
put hose over the filler tube.
turn on vac and
other person unscrew drain plug
may have to use your hand around the hose to get a better seal
let off the vac a little until oil pours what you want then apply vac againg and screw in plug.

all these retarded little tricks, you don't need em. I had to drain a little in the summer when I changed mine cause I added too much.
Its easy to find the threads again when the oil starts draining, unless your a total retard and you forgot where the oil drain is when you take out the bolt?!? Getting oil on your hands doesn't hurt anything, even if your a hand model, soap and water fixes things right up!
Drain and check, repeat if necessary, case closed!
