I think I killed my car(sorry kinda long)

Well I was driving it today for the first time to work today, it was running funny when I was boosting, I did some searching and I had put the Pressure sensor pill in backwards, flipped it and went to the gas station.

Hey this thing is running great! Fast forward to the end of the day, I pull out on the highway from work and start shifting gears, Im not really heavy in to the throttle but good enough to get moving(Hey Im pulling onto the HWY from a dead stop) Well first and second are great! Third hits a wall at 3k and sounds like it has the worst case of gas ever.

I get off the highway and limp through town, no power, barely climbing hills idling like crap. Get it home compression test Front was 50-50-50 and rear was 90-90-90 or close to those numbers.

Now the question is doI rebuild it or what? I bought the car for $650 87 t2 90k miles problably have spent a total of $1500 dollars to get it where I want RB exhaust ect. So I have $2200 in a car I drove once, where do I draw the line?

If I do rebuild should I port the motor and upgrade to 3mm seals? Sorry guys Im just kinda upset now, two years of work and it ends like this

3mm Apex seals are said to be best for high-rpm 'racing', not street-city driving. I'd stick with 2mm. As far as porting goes, if this is for street driving, i'd say streetport. Rebuilding a motor and not porting it, is like turning on a tv and not watching it, with it muted. Port port port! Oh, and if you are really unhappy with you're car, I'll buy it.

I thought about that too, but you never know the condition of the motor. for another 800 i can get a fresh rebuild thats ported from Kevin that I know is good.

If you can get a rebuild for 800 and you know its good, I'd say go for it. 90 is decent, but 50 is a definate rebuild.

Cheap rebuilds that last, go with Kevin. If you want it ported, no offense, go with Kahren . Bit pricier, but his port's are second to none, as far as mass-builder's go. I'm going with Kahren because I've seen his streetports and they are INSANE.

rebuild and investigate what caused the failure.

were you checking boost numbers when it happened? if you are not doing supportive mods as you increase boost then now is the time to research how much fuel you need and proper tuning for those mods before having another engine put in.

I like the sound of that!

So just lower compression isnt a blown apex seal right? Im curious what happened, did a side seal crack or something?

Honestly I thought I had done enough supporting mods: walbro,Rtek1.5 ported wastgate. As for boost levels my autometer gauge quit working, but the stock gauge never even came close to the max, which is 8psi right?

the car had sat for such a long time(only had 10k miles put on it in the last 10 years) I think that could have been a problem. the front rotor was only at 80-85psi before today anyways

No, even compression is not a broken seal at all, generally. Its usually just a worn down engine that doesnt seal as well.

the stock gauge is good to 8 or 9psi at the max reading though i tend to distrust it.

We compression test em before they even leave.

Shipping unknown motors is bad business for everyone.

Is there a possibility that I just have some carbon build-up? It there anything I can try to get some compression back?

when i had my autometer gauge in i watched that thing like an eagle, yet everytime that i lay my foot in it, the highest the autometer would go is 5.5, so when i looked at the stock gauge it would peak at its normal max boost. the lack of numbers on that thing just annoyed me
