Unhappy I think I dropped something in the engine

Ok.. I was putting my intake manifold back together and I herd this metal clank sound and it could have been anything. It is possible
that something fell inside the engine. Is there any thing I should do to figure out if this is what happend. My friend suggested rolling the
car in 5th and seeing if the engine flows freely. I was wondering if there any other idea out there.

Only turn the engine as a last resort- these aren't like piston poppers, where you have plenty of cylinder bore room before you hit TDC...Which manifold were you putting on? If UIM, take it back off and take a good look inside the LIM- sometimes when something falls into the LIM, it doesn't make it into the engine...

It was the LIM that was exposed. I was trying to put on the UIM. I didnt see anything and I felt around. I will try to see if I shop vac it. If that doesnt pull anything am i to try turning it slowly.

heh... that sucks so bad its kinda funny.

losing nuts in the mani is probably worse because its harder to get/less likely to get stuck... but it still sucks

better safe than sorry, take off you lower manifold and take a peak in or probe with a magnet. Ifthat doesnt work go throught the exhst ports. If you still cant find it still crank the engine from the main pulley very slowly with a socket wrench (no impact wrench)
