i think i blew somethin up

i got a question. well i got my turbo II started. and i have my fuel pump wired to a switch. and after it ran i cut it off. i left the shop where i work at. and supposedly some people came around my car and started messing with the switch. i left the doors unlock for a sec. and then i get a call from a friend sayin that fuel was comin all outta the car. like up under it. i wanna know is it that possible for the fuel pump to break one of those hard *** lines it runs threw under the car?? i thought more likely it would blow up around the filter where there is less strong material and normal little hose tubing. whats the change of this happening?

Uh, how did you wire the switch???&nbsp If it's a normal fuel pump cut-off switch, it's almost impossible to break something or cause a fuel leak unless someone was yanking on the fuel hoses...

Did you hot wire the pump so that it ran with the car off?

I doubt its a big problem. If the pressure regulator is working you only had 40psi in the fuel line, so I doubt anything ruptured. Must be a fuel hose clamp or perhaps the PD. You used fuel injection line instead of just regular fuel hose, so it can't be a blown fuel hose. I'd just let everything dry up and put the car in a well ventilated area, with a fire extinguisher handy, and jumper the fuel injection plug or in your case flip the sw and look for leaks. So how did the car run the first time? Got bugs to work out?

well i found the leak it was newr the fuel filter right where the bottom hose clamps to it. and i got it started but its bogging down. sometimes when i hit the gas itt makes it cut off faster. what could that be?? and which why do i go with the idle adjuster to make the idle go up?

If I understand your setup correctly, your pump can run even if the ignition is swtched off. This means you have bypassed an important safety feature: the fuel cut-off switch in the air flow meter. This kills power to the fuel pump when the engine stalls after an accident, stopping fuel being pumped at high pressure out of damaged fuel lines. I'm sure you understand why this might be a good thing! I suggest you rip that dodgy switch out and wire it up like everyone else!
